Welcome to Ireland’s First Psychotherapy Sensory room for adolescents and adults. This room is available for everyone who would like to sit in an environment that moves away from the more clinical look of therapy and is based in Limerick city. The room allows for clients to relax and move past anxieties of therapy quicker and discuss difficulties in a sensory environment. You can chose to have soft lighting, change the color of the room, have stars on the ceiling or sit in near dark. Sit on a chair, couch or beanbags or walk in the room if needed. Music is played if required, a 50 inch TV shows a fish tank, running water, beautiful scenery or whatever suit your individual preference. The TV is also used for Psycho education to use a visual form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Come in to discuss, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, Suicidal thoughts, self-harm, gender identity, depression, sexuality, behavioural difficulties, emotion regulation or any other life difficulties you may have. Therapy is modified for each person using my Psychotherapy education so far also in the Autism education I have been perusing. Therapy and the room is in recognition that we are all different and require different needs, I work hard every day to move and understand each clients needs in order to support their difference and work with their strengths.
